From Stress to Strength - Peace of Mind through Yoga

This course being offered by Northern Women's Health Centre runs over six weeks and aims to help women deal with stress and anxiety through yoga, breathing techniques and deep relaxation.

Term 3 commences:  Thursday - 05/08/10 to 09/09/10

Term 4 commences: Thursday - 28/10/10 to 02/12/10

Over the final few months for this year we are going to delve into this topic, looking at the experience of what problems might exactly be about. Come with an open mind, an open heart and a willingness to learn. You'll learn much about yourself.

Play and Chat Mornings

Helen, our qualified Childcare worker, invites you to come along and enjoy our informal play and chat mornings in Term 3 2010. This is an opportunity for mothers and female carers to share experiences with other mums and to learn tips, ideas and information about child related resources in our community.

The aim of these mornings is to provide an informative, safe and relaxed environment for mothers and their children, providing the opportunity for mothers to share information with each other and draw upon Helen's knowledge as a qualified childcarer.

Self-Esteem Course - "It's OK to be Me"

This five-week program explores the relationship we have with ourselves; how we see our self and how we act towards our self. The aim of the workshop is to develop a sense of self-acceptance, with a view to developing a greater sense of self-worth and value.

Women's Healing Garden Project

Healing GardenFor women who are interested in gardens, learning to garden and the joy of being with other women.

All women are welcome to come and give a hand to plant and enjoy a morning in our growing garden. Some potential future projects include establishing a tea herb garden with a special place to sit and have a cuppa, a mosaic stepping stone path and clay sculpture, as well as expanding and planting our 'Mandala' garden.

Please wear covered shoes and bring some gardening gloves.

Older Women's Network (OWN) Wyong Group

The aim of OWN is to promote the rights, dignity and well-being of older women. OWN Groups organise a wide range of activities and advocate on issues of concern to older women.

Christmas Gathering

Celebrate the end of the year, the upcoming festive season and the start of the new year with our Christmas Lunch. This will be a friendly gathering, an opportunity for us to interact and share lunch before the closure of the Centre over the Christmas break.

It gives us at the Centre an opportunity to say thank you for your support throughout the year and for those of you that have joined groups, to reunite and enjoy each others company once again.
